Northern Pathway Shared Pathway CPTED Assessment

In 2020, I prepared a CPTED assessment at the concept stage of the Northern Pathway Westhaven to Akoranga (W2A) project. The proposed pathway was designed to promote user safety through an alignment that was relatively straight, with clear sightlines and views ahead, and an alignment that enabled users to enter and exit the path at a number of locations. There were however points along the proposed Northern Pathway (W2A) route that presented some specific  CPTED concerns. The report I prepared provided recommendations to incorporate both overarching and targeted mitigation interventions to minimise the risk of crime and maximise user safety along the route.
