Cambridge C1-C3 Structure Plans
Beca, 2016-2017
The C1, C2, and C3 Growth Cells in Cambridge, identified in Waipa 2050 and the Waipa District Plan, required structure planning and rezoning to enable residential development. During 2016 and 2017, I co-led the development of these plans, shaped through extensive stakeholder consultation and workshops and in response to significant stormwater and transportation constraints. The final plans aimed to enhance Cambridge’s character with diverse housing options (targeting a desnity of 10-15 dwellings per hectare), improved walking and cycling connections, and new neighbourhood centres. Following the adoption of Plan Change 7, construction of these growth cells is now underway.
